BD Play List

Post by johnomg »

G'day All :D

I thought it would be nice for Members (and especially the Creator's of BD Games) to see what BD Games other Members had played.

I will just add to (edit) this post whenever I complete a BD Game. Unless otherwise stated the Emulator used was CCS64.

My BD Play List (in no particular order):
The Original Boulder Dash Series by First Star Software:
- Boulder Dash 01 & 02
- Boulder Dash 03 using the current Bugfix by LogicDeLuxe
Stopped at BD3 Cave K/05, hoping for a updated Bugfix.

Arno Dash by Arno Weber:
- Arno Dash 01-20
My first experience with a BD Fan made Game.

Exploding Dash by Arno Weber:
- Exploding Dash 01 & 02 (CCS64 & GDash Versions)
The GDash Version is a must play!

Santa's Boulder Dash Party by Arno Weber:
- Santa's BD Party 01
One Evil looking Santa.

Future Dash by Arno Weber:
- Future Dash 01
My first experience with a New Rockford ability, "walking off screen".

Crazy Dream Dash by Marek Roth:
- Crazy Dream Dash 01-02
- Crazy Dream Dash 03 (not completed yet = doing my head in)
My first experience with Diagonal movement and New Elements. By far the hardest Series I have played to date. CrDr02 Cave 19 drove me nuts!

Rock Fort by Dustin:
- Rock Fort 01, Level 01 (GDash Version)
I liked the Story Line that Dustin provided within this Version. It's also the first game I played using GDash, seeing the whole Cave was a strange experience at first but I quickly warmed to it.
- Rock Fort 02, Level 01 (BRemake Version)
The first game I played using BRemake and WOW!!! I even gave RF01 a go since it was initally made for it, a MUST TRY in BRemake!

RTA Dash by R. Agsten
- RTA Dash 01-07
Very nice game with a relaxing feel to it. It combines Simple and Complex Caves nicely and builds upon itself as you progress through the Series.

Sendy Dash by Sendy (aka Alexandra C.)
- Sendy Dash 01
Not for anyone Faint Hearted. Tough and thought provoking 47 Caves. Cave 42 gave me eyestrain and a headache!

That's it for now. Thanks to the Creator's of BD Games for the Fun!!!

If anyone else would like to create their own BD Play List post and add it to this Thread I for one would love to see it.

Regards
John :D

Actually there are many games which I've completed partly, where I skipped the caves that I found less interesting. Last times I "play" most caves by looking at the maps... :)

I'll list here the games for which I've completed at least all level 1 caves.

Peter Liepa: BD1, 2
American action: BD3
Dr. Watson: BD4
Don Pedro: BD5 - 11
No One: No One's Boulder 1 - 5
The Blockheads: Boulder Head 1
(plus testing my own series, of course ;))

I don't even remember if I played through all the higher levels, which I find a bit dull when there are plenty of other BD games to be played. So completed in this list means at least the first level. In many fanmade games (like with BD3), the higher levels are a complete mess not worth bothering anyways.

BD1, BD2
BD3
Dr. Watson's BD4
Don Pedro's BD5-11
No One's Boulder Series: not sure, it's long time ago. I think I completed at least the BD1 engine based games here, except for the lost numbers.
Rockford's series: I played several of them, but not all. This series is huge and playing through it alone probably would be a lifetime job.
Blockheads: at least the BD1 engine games.
Boulderwillis Babydash
El Swingi's Null Bock Boulderdash
Sub7's Brutalo Boulderdash
And many more, I can't remember.

There were also many games I found the design either insane or boring, so I just skipped caves, and usually quickly ended up not playing the game at all. And there are also many well designed games I just didn't find the time to play them seriously.

Don Pedro made most craziest levels in those days I think. Real BD-freak!
